Estimating the economic benefits of eliminating job strain as a risk factor for depression
An Australian study forecasting the economic costs of job strain and depression on the individual, the employer and society. Furthermore, employers seem to bear the brunt of the expense in the form of lost productivity and job turnover. According to the authors, job strain accounts for 13% to 17% of depression in the workplace; therefore, by reducing job strain, employers can reduce depression and its associated costs.
